I have no idea where else to post this to, so I’m sorry if this is the wrong subreddit.
Backstory:
I had a pair of casual boat shoes I’d keep downstairs and wear to just grab the mail or walk my dog in. One day, I put them on and the inside was soaked. I have cats as well, so I assumed it was pee and threw them away (Even though my cats never pee on things) I did try to save them, but the residue was a weird orange/brown and entirely scentless so I gave up.
Today: I got a new pair of sandals, Tevas, at Macys like 2-3 days ago. I have worn them maybe once since purchasing.
I go downstairs this morning and there’s a pool of liquid ontop of one of the sandals. I grab paper towels and my black light.
– It was not pee
– doesn’t have a scent
– it’s a light yellow residue this time
I cleaned them up and dried them and checked again with the black light and still no visible sign of it being urine. Where the liquid was, it left a sparkly (like microscopic sparkle) sheen on it,
Does anyone have any idea what this is?? Has it ever happened to any of your shoes??
