I travel to Mexico to visit family and its typically around rainy season where puddles can get a bit deep.
I usually take some comfortable walking sneakers for sunny days but put on hiking boots for when it looks like it'll rain.
The issue is that we walk around all day and those boots are tiring.
I've decided to look into what people recommend. There's something called gore tex and half the posts swear they're amazing at keeping your feet dry, others say if rainwater gets in, its not coming out and will get your feet all swampy.
I saw an ad for Vessi shoes but all reviews I found on reddit mentioned they're really narrow and don't have much cushion. Pretty much ruled them out for my trip scenario.
Having trouble nailing down whether I should consider gore tex, go with the style I like (currently use New Balance sneakers) or go with a boot/hightop to prevent rain from getting in by the ankle area
Any input/suggestions would be great
