Hi people,
I hope it's the correct reddit as I wasn't sure based on the top description, but couldn't find closer. I bought a pair of Dr Martens shoes (I believe the model to be the 1461 bex), but despite a month of wearing them, the part of it holding against my Achilles tendon is not at all softening and is even sharp, hurting my feet daily through the socks to the point at the end of each day my tendons are wounded from the constant friction with it. I tried to put one of these sticky bandage on the shoe's part, but it didn't help at all.
Has anyone faced this issue or has an idea on how to solve this problem? Having them sit on the side due to that issue is a bit of a pain on the mind.

Hey!
At the end of May, I'm going on a month-long trip to Japan and Korea. I'm currently looking for the right shoes. After researching, I'm torn between the New Balance 530 and Nike Vomero 5.
I went to a Nike store to try some on, and the sales assistant told me that no shoes are as good as running shoes. She recommended a few for me to try, and the moment I put on the new Nike Vomero 18s, I instantly felt a difference—like walking on a cloud. I'm willing to pay more if it means minimizing foot pain after walking 20k steps every day.
When I tried on the Vomero 5 and NB 530, I didn’t feel the same level of comfort as with the Vomero 18. Now, I’m unsure which ones to choose. Some people say that running shoes aren't suitable for long-distance walking in the long run, while others argue that running shoes are actually much better than "comfortable lifestyle" shoes like the Vomero 5 or New Balance 530.
What’s your opinion? This is the first time I genuinely want to buy the most comfortable shoes possible.
For context: in 2024, I went on two week-long trips where I wore my Nike Dunk Lows and walked around 25k steps per day. By the end of those trips, I was limping, and I don’t want to experience that again—especially since this trip will last a whole month.

I just recently started going to the gym for the first time. I wanted to find a good pair of workout shoes but know they are expensive and I want to make the right choice.
They need to be
1. Comfortable (I have foot pain often)
2. Versatile (I need them for running, walking around in general, and just every workout related situation)
3. In my price range (under 200)

Hi, sorry for the spam, but this forum is my last resort, I've been obsessively looking for something that looks likke the buzz 5 eye grizzly and the closes I have found are new rocks, which are around 300 GBP for me, and I can't afford that. Does anyone have any reccomendations of shoes that look like this and come in a size UK10?

Basically all the shoes I own are too narrow for my feet and it’s been causing me problems with pain and even circulation in my toe. I mostly wear sneakers and chunky shoes and have a street wear vibe. I hate sandals and feel uncomfortable showing my feet, I also live in a major city so I can’t be wearing sandals outside with pollution, sharp objects, etc. I have a pair of platform Crocs which have a wide toe box that I’m able to style in a way that looks cool, but I can’t realistically wear Crocs all the time.
I love my Sambas but from what I’ve seen I can’t seem to find them in wide sizes? I am solidly a size 9, I’ve tried 10s and they’re too big. I don’t want to be wearing some stupid looking barefoot shoes or anything. Could Tabi shoes help? What brands carry wider sizes? I heard New Balance wide sizes aren‘t a big difference from their regular ones
